Avifauna of the southern spurs of Chersky mountain ridge (400–1400 m asl) was studied in June-August of 2021 and 2023. 95 species were registered including 76 breeding, 10 summering and 9 observed only during summer migration. 11 species mostly of boreal origin inhabit forest belt on the altitudes below 800 m and are not recorded in the subalpine belt. Both forest and subalpine belts are inhabited by 35 species, also mostly of boreal origin. Open landscapes of subalpine belt are inhabited by 22 species, most of which are of boreal-hypoarctic and hypoarctic origin. Bare rocky habitats of alpine belt are inhabited only by 5 species. Whereas forest belt fauna is similar to that of the neighboring mountain area, fauna of the subalpine belt is more specific and transitory between the Yakutian mountains and the Kolyma Highland.
