During 2021–2023 experiment aimed at increasing the nest success of Arctic shorebirds (dunlin Calidris alpine, pectoral sandpiper C. melanotos, Temminck`s stint C. temminckii and red-necked phalarope Phalaropus lobatus) via nest enclosures was conducted. On average, the nest success for dunlin and pectoral sandpiper in enclosures was 100% comparing to 79.1±5.5% and 50.1±6.2% respectively in unprotected nests. In Temminck`s stint nest success increased
from 30.6±33.7% (unprotected nests) to 74.6±22.5% (protected nests) In red-necked phalarope nest success in protected nests reached 91.67±14.43% comparing to 61.3±13.2% in unprotected ones. The positive influence of exclosures on nest survival was proved for studied shorebird species.
