Currently, more than 25% of the forest territory of the Komi Republic is affected by various logging methods, which negatively affect the properties of forest soils and the soil invertebrates. Could the vertical distribution of invertebrates, associated with the specific environmental conditions in different genetic soil horizons, be one of the mechanisms for maintaining the stability of soil biota after forest cutting? It was shown that large saprophagous and soil macrofauna were «deepened» into the soil in the recultivated logging corridors, due to turbation of soil. On the contrary, the vertical distribution of macrofauna in clear-cutting plots and logging corridors with three and ten passes of forwarder equipment was characterized by the «exit» of the remaining fauna and invertebrates migrating from undisturbed areas into the forest litter, preserved near stumps and tree undergrowth, along the roadsides and on the ridges.
